Yard Sale Weekend!

So, the inaugural Ng Family Yard Sale went very well this weekend. We were super busy on Saturday - the weather was beautiful, lots of people stopped by, and we made almost $250! (Thanks in large part to the sale of my alto saxophone!) Sunday was not such a great day - while it didn't rain until well after we'd closed up shop at 4 pm, the threat of rain was present the entire day and, I think, kept people away. We only made about $45 on Sunday. But, after expenses, the profit from this weekend's sale was about $270!

Here are some pictures I took on Sunday. I remember my mom being really organized when she held garage sales, and I mimicked some of her ideas. (Like using ladders to hang up clothing items.) At the time when these pictures were taken, most of our items had sold (as it turns out, Carey and I didn't have as much stuff as we thought...) and most of the stuff left was from mama. However, despite the fact that it looks like mama still has lots of stuff for sale, she sold LOTS of items on Saturday. (That should give you an idea of how much stuff she brought over to our house for the yard sale!)

Yard Sale!!

Abby enjoying some Cheerios and watching mommy and daddy set-up the sale on Sunday morning. (We did move Abby into the garage once the sale started. We didn't want anyone to think she was for sale!!)

My mom's idea: using ladders to hang up suits, dresses, dress shirts, etc.

Someone had given mama a huge, solid wood salad bowl. It sits on a Lazy Susan and has two solid wood salad tongs. Little did we know, in addition to holding salad, it can also hold an Abby!

Abby checking to see if anyone is stopping by our sale

Please note: no Abigails were tossed or covered in salad dressing during the taking of these photographs. :-)
