Happy New Year's Eve!

I have to admit: New Year's Eve has lost something for me now that I'm a parent. Why would I intentionally stay up past midnight? I have three small children at home, two of whom have been sick for the last week and one of whom is teething. If they're asleep at midnight, I intend to be asleep, too!

However, I do love the idea of a fresh start. A time to look back and a time to look forward. I don't really do resolutions, per se, but I definitely go into January with a desire to be better this year. A better wife and mother. A better role model. A kinder person. A better listener. A healthier me.

As 2014 comes to a close, I hope that you can look back fondly on the many memories of the past 12 months. But I also hope that you have wonderful things to look forward to in 2015! May the New Year find you happy, healthy, and blessed!

Christmas Cuteness!

I know, I know, it's not even Thanksgiving yet. But when you order photo cards for Christmas, you need those holiday photos taken early. With that in mind, the Ngs traveled to our favorite photo studio, Cl!x in Huntington, for our annual family photos. The appointment did not get off to a good start - we waited 35 minutes while a lighting problem was dealt with - but we ended up getting some amazing shots! So, while these are Christmas photos, they are appropriate for November as well since these loving, adorable people are definitely something I am thankful for!

Throwback Thursday (Way Back Wednesday) - Halloween Edition!

Holy cow! Kristen is posting on the blog today! (I know, I know - it's been way too long. Is having 3 children an excuse?) Things are crazy busy at the Ng house. Some bad (ear infections and croup, anyone?), but most are really good. Like a little girl who is loving 1st grade. Like a little boy who is still obsessed with vehicles. Like a baby girl who is growing so fast that I'm afraid to blink. Life is pretty awesome at the Ng house. :-)

In preparation for tomorrow's Halloween festivities, I thought I'd post some photos from last Halloween. My sweet Cinderella and my mischievous shark - I love them so much! This year will include a third little Ng dressed up, and I can't wait to post some photos this weekend.

Thanks to everyone who has continued to check All Things Ng, even during the periods of silence. I'm hoping that time will begin to present itself again so I can post occasional updates and pictures of my three little loves. In the meantime, Happy Halloween!!

Happy Mother's Day!

I received this at one of my MOMS meetings several months ago, and I wanted to share it on Mother's Day. It always brings tears to my eyes and has absolutely changed how I view motherhood and how I approach the every day challenges of dealing with little ones. It also makes me appreciate my own mother even more - a loving, kind, warm, surprisingly funny lady who has blessed my days. To all the mommas out there, and especially my wonderful mom, Happy Mother's Day. Truly, mothers are a special blessing. :-)

A baby asked God, "They tell me you are sending me to earth tonight, but how am I going to live there, being so small and helpless?" God said, "Your angel will be waiting for you and will take care of you." The child further inquired, "But, tell me, here in Heaven I don't have to do anything but sing and smile to be happy." God said, "Your angel will sing for you and will also smile for you. And you will feel your angel's love and be very happy."

Again the child asked, "And how am I going to be able to understand when people talk to me if I don't know the language?" God said, "Your angel will tell you the most beautiful and sweet words you will ever hear, and with much patience and care, your angel will teach you how to speak."

"And what am I going to do when I want to talk to you?" God said, "Your angel will place your hands together and will teach you how to pray."

"Who will protect me?" God said, "Your angel will defend you, even if it means risking its own life."

"But I will always be sad because I will not see you anymore." God said, "Your angel will always talk to you about Me and will teach you the way to come back to Me, even though I will always be next to you."

At that moment, there was much peace in Heaven, but voices from Earth could be heard and the child hurriedly asked, "God, if I am to leave now, please tell me my angel's name."

God said, "You will simply call her 'Mom'."
