Zachary Update - Month 11

This must be wrong? Seriously? Can it be true? Is this sweet, squishy, squirmy, smiley little boy really 11 months old? Cause, well, you know, 11 comes before 12, and there is no way my son can possibly be approaching his first birthday (gulp!) this quickly. Can he?

Yes, I suppose the calendar does not lie. My little man, my Zachary Thomas, is 11 months old. This little guy just keeps bringing joy and smiles to our home and our hearts each and every day. This month has definitely seen lots of changes.
Yay! I love being 11 months old! :-)

We are up to 8 teeth, four on the top and four on the bottom. And for the first time in what seems like forever, Zach doesn't have to wear a bib all day because he isn't drooling like a Saint Bernard all day. Hooray! You can finally see all those adorable little boy clothes, rather than a stained, wet bib.
Caution: photo taken with only 7 teeth.
Cuteness has increased exponentially with addition of 8th tooth.

Zach is also doing great with his eating. He loves all the snacky-type foods we give him (Cheerios, Gerber Puffs, Wagon Wheels, etc.), and he loves table food like chicken, carrots, peas, bananas, eggs and sweet potatoes. I'm mashing things up less and less, and doing my best to prepare the food that we're eating in such a way that he can eat it, too.
Spaghetti: a child's revenge for "Mommy, you took my temperature where?!?"

Zach has been doing a belly crawl for almost two months now, but this month, he started doing the traditional hands and knees crawl (although he's still much faster doing his belly schooch!) and he's begun to pull himself up into a standing position just within the last two weeks. He now loves to stand up as much as possible and watch whatever anyone else in the room is doing.
Hey sissy! Whatcha doing?

We transitioned from two naps to one nap about a month and a half ago, and now he's taking one nap consistently, right after lunch. He's sleeping well at night, although he has begun to wake up way too early for this mama - before 6 am. Ack! But, I shouldn't complain. He's sleeping well without all the teething nonsense, so I'll take it.
This 'standing up thing' sure is tiring...
Good thing there's a pillow here.

Zach doesn't really have any favorite toys just yet - he still pretty much loves anything he can put in his mouth. He does like toys that make music, so any of our musical instruments (maracas, keyboards, rhythm sticks) and any toys that play songs, like Abby's old Winnie the Pooh plane or any of her toys that talk. And did I mention he loves anything he can put in his mouth???
How do I get in here? I know this is where they keep all the good toys...

So, here we are, another month older. Another month cuter. Another month more squishy. And another month of happiness and love for mommy, daddy, and Abby. Zachy, we love you, sweet boy!
