Not doing well...

My poor baby. It has been a rough few days for Abby, which means it has also been a rough few days for her mommy and daddy. To fill you in on what's happened since my last post...

Carey stayed home with Abby on Tuesday. She was fever-free during the day, but she really wasn't eating well. (And, as you know, being Carey's daughter, Abby is normally a very healthy eater!) Her fever returned on Tuesday night, to just over 102. So, I took her to the doctor's office on Wednesday morning. The diagnosis: two middle ear infections and croup. Yuck. So, the doctor advised us to continue with the Motrin to control Abby's fever and the pain, and he gave us a prescription for an antibiotic. I couldn't believe that her ears took such a rapid downturn; the doctor said her ears were fine on Monday, and the infections were pretty severe by the time we saw the doctor on Wednesday...

Dr. Cohen said that we should see a noticeable improvement after Abby had been on the antibiotics for 24-36 hours. Well, my poor little smoosh was out of sorts all day on Wednesday and Thursday. She was almost back on a "newborn" schedule: sleep for one - two hours, wake up to eat (but she wasn't eating much at all...), stay awake for about an hour, and then go back to sleep. There has been very little sleep for anyone in the Ng house, at least no good, restorative sleep... Abby finally slept for about four hours last night, and Carey was going to take her back to the doctor's office this morning to have her examined again.

Please say a prayer for Abigail. It is just awful to see her in pain and uncomfortable, and I hope that the doctor will advise us how we can best help our little munchkin!
