Democracy in action!

Carey had the day off from work yesterday (the DA's office is closed every year on Election Day), so we were able to go vote together. Our polling place is one of the local elementary schools. By the time we both showered and got Abby ready to go (fed, changed, dressed) and packed her diaper bag, we left the house around 11:30 am. We were prepared to wait in line as long as necessary, so we were both surprised when we walked into the school cafeteria and saw no line! Carey signed in and voted with munchkin, and then it was my turn. I don't know if we were in the school more then 5 minutes. I feel bad for all the people who had to wait in line for hours yesterday to vote, but I am very proud that so many people who did have a long wait remained in line in order to vote in this historic election. Regardless is whether or not your candidate won (in the national or local elections), it is incredibly important to vote and make your voice heard.
