Welcome to Not Me! Monday! This blog carnival was created by
MckMama. You can head over to
her blog to read what she and everyone else have not been doing this week.
Well, I'm not sure if MckMama is going to post for Not Me! Monday today. (She's had a lot going on with her youngest child, Stellan. Please keep that beautiful little boy in your prayers...) But, I couldn't resist the chance to clear the air of all the things that I most certainly did
not do last week.
I did not race around my house like a crazy woman on Friday night and Saturday, trying to clean everything before my in-laws arrived to celebrate Father's Day. And I most certainly did not admit defeat and shove anything that remained out-of-place into various closets and hoped that no one would accidentally open one of those closets and be crushed under my stuff. Not me!
I did not have one of my worst days at work EVER. I did not cry while I was at the office, and I most certainly did not cry to Carey when I got home. I did not wake up with a sense of clarity the next morning, allowing myself to see that I won't have to work forever, but that I need to hang in there for a while longer. I did not realize that I should be thankful for my job and my co-workers, and I did not find a new spring in my step for the rest of the week. Not me!
I did not almost freak out at the woman behind me in line at the grocery store who, not knowing what rhubarb was, proceeded to pinch and squeeze my rhubarb before I even paid for it. (Would she have liked it if I'd started squeezing everything in her cart???) I did not calmly move my rhubarb to the head of my grocery order, out of her reach. Nope, not me!
I did not hear/feel/smell my 9-month old daughter poop in church last night. I most certainly did not reason that, since church was almost over and we only live five minutes away, I would wait to change her diaper until we got home. And, upon pulling into our driving, I did not run inside to change said diaper, cheering when I discovered that the diaper hadn't leak all over her pretty dress. Not me!
I did not apply the five-second rule to the Gerber puffs that fell on the floor of our living room this weekend during one of Abby's messier snack sessions. And I most certainly did not munch on any of the stray puffs, just to save my daughter from possibly eating something that was "too dirty" for her. (And because I did not do this, I could not possibly tell you that those little puffs are quite delicious!) Not me!
And, most importantly, I did not wish Carey the happiest Father's Day ever. I did not tell him that Abby and I are so blessed to have him, and I did not let him sit around the house yesterday, drinking beer, watching golf, and playing Mario Cart on our Wii. And I most certainly did not change every poopy diaper yesterday so he wouldn't have to deal with anything stinky on Father's Day. Not me!
So, what did you
not do last week???
