Blowing Kisses and Cutting Teeth!

What a few days it has been with our little girl! I've been holding onto this update in the hopes that I would be able to get a few pictures to go along with it. But, no dice. Abby loves having her picture taken, but she just won't let me get a picture of her two newest developments. Darn...

Anyway, on Saturday, we were over at Bart & Melissa's for the Ng family summer birthday celebration. Abby was getting a bit cranky, but I didn't give it a second thought since it was almost time for her to eat. Ever since her first two teeth poked through on the bottom, it's become a habit of mine to feel her little gums when she's being cranky, just so I can see if it might be teething pain. Abby hadn't had any "Crabby Abby" episodes in a long while, so I hadn't had to stick my finger in her mouth in a long time. Well, lo and behold, there was a tooth on her top gums! That's right! My little munchkin has now gotten her third tooth (the first on the top)!! It's poking through a bit more every day, and it's just so freakin' adorable! I am AMAZED that Abby handled this tooth so well. With the exception of Sunday night, when we gave her a half dose of infant Motrin, she has not shown any signs of distress (other than a little crankiness around bedtime, which we attribute to tiredness, rather than tooth pain). She's only had one more episode like the two she had last week ('waking up' in the middle of the night upset, but never really waking up and calming right down after we picked her up). So, kudos to Karen who guessed that it was probably teething related!

The other development, which is one of the cutest developments to date, is that Abby now blows kisses! So, so cute!! She opens her mouth and just pats her hand over it. But she always looks so proud of herself after she does it! Carey and I both tried very hard over the weekend to get pictures of this phenomenon, but this is the best we could get...

Not really what we were trying to capture on film, but cute nonetheless, right??? :-)

So, it just keeps getting cuter at the Ng house. I am really amazed at how fast Abigail is developing and changing, and I feel so blessed to be her mommy. God is good!
