Doesn't Abby realize...

...that she's too big to lay this way in her crib???

No matter how we put her in her crib, Abby always ends up maneuvering herself down to the foot of the bed and laying along the shorter edge of her crib. Okay when she was a smaller munchkin, but now that she's a bigger munchkin, she tends to, er, hang out a bit. Thankfully, once she's into a deep sleep, Carey and I can rotate her out of danger (i.e. so that her little arms and legs aren't stuck through the crib slats) and then she's fine.

Why don't we have bumpers on the crib, you might ask? Wouldn't that prevent this situation? Yes, it absolutely would. But, bumpers would also give Baby Knievel extra leverage that she might use (and, on more than one occasion, looked like she was contemplating) to crawl over the rail of her crib and take a nose drive to the floor. Normally, she's not "hanging out" quite so much, so Carey and I agreed that the occasional stray arm was better than Abby hurtling herself out of her crib. The lesser of two evils...

The Ngs have a busy weekend ahead of them, so I doubt that I'll be able to post to the blog again until Monday. So, I hope that everyone has a happy, safe, sunny weekend!

She is just so adorable! I agree with you about the bumpers being used for a "leg up" - we always removed them from the crib once the boys were standing. Thanks for stopping by my blog the other day and leaving a comment. It's been fun Getting to Know You.
