Anyway, it was a great check-up. Miss Abigail weighs in at 17 pounds, 4 ounces (50th - 75th percentile) and stands an amazing 28 inches tall (97th percentile!!!). Her head and chest circumferences were normal, and the doctor was very happy with Abby's development (rolling over, sitting up, making lots of noises, hand-eye coordination). They re-confirmed that Abby may soon be sporting some pearly whites because her gums are still red and swollen. The doctor wasn't too worried about Abby's runny nose either; Abby doesn't exhibit any other symptoms of sickness (no fever, no trouble eating or sleeping, etc.), and the only time she really coughs is when we first lay her down to sleep. (Must be the nose drippings back up into her throat and make her cough. Some of our other parent-friends told us that the same thing happened to their kids when they started teething...)
We've been cleared to give Abby more foods, including pastina and eggs (once Abby reaches 7 months). We're also cleared to start Abby on a sippy cup with water. I get so excited each time we introduce something new; I love to see Abby's reaction to the new foods and experiences!
I hope that everyone has a great weekend!
