Love

I'll admit it: although I know that Valentine's Day is a commercial holiday, I love it. I feel so blessed to have a wonderful man as my husband and two adorable, amazing children and so many other family members and friends. Well, I feel so loved and blessed myself that I cannot help but love a holiday that celebrates that love and those blessings. So, while we didn't go crazy for Valentine's Day this year, we did celebrate it.

Carey actually had off on Monday, February 13th. (Does anyone else get off for Lincoln's birthday and Presidents' Day? Not that I'm complaining. Carey has been so busy at work lately - we're lucky to have him home for two straight long weekends!) While it wasn't extravagent, I decided to treat everyone to IKEA. Carey and I have passed our love of IKEA's Swedish meatballs on to Abby, so we were all very excited to have dinner together.

Me and my girl, enjoying some meatballs at IKEA.

You know your husband knows you well when this is your Valentine's gift:
every kind of Reese's Peanut Butter Cups available.

And if sweet treats weren't sweet enough, how about a husband who not only
brings you a rose, but also brings one home for your daughter. In her favorite color.
I have heard "What a sweet papa I have!" all week!

The Little Man's first Valentine's Day.
So what if he couldn't have chocolate this year. He looks more than happy with his keys. :-)
