Really?

I had an appointment with my OB/GYN on Monday. Abby came with me and was the darling of the office. (I was asked to bring her back again next month!) My doctor said that everything looks good: my blood pressure is fine, he poked around on my belly and said that felt fine, and I got to hear the baby's heartbeat. Yay! Even Abby seemed pretty excited with I told her that was the baby's heart that she heard. :-)

What did shock me was that I haven't gained a single pound since I got pregnant. I had gotten down to a really good weight before we got pregnant, and my belly is definitely expanding, so I thought for sure that I must have gained something.

After all, how do you go from this...

(December 4, 2010 - barely pregnant; about 4 weeks)

to this...

(January 2, 2011 - 8 weeks pregnant)

to this...

(February 7, 2011 - 13 weeks pregnant)

all without gaining a single pound??? I guess my body is just a master at redistributing what it already has...
