Abigail, mommy loves your dimples. I love that I get to see them every time you smile or laugh. And I love that you do both of those things so often that I'm able to bask in the glow of those dimples on a regular basis.
Abigail, mommy loves your curiosity. I love that you want to figure out how things work. I love that you want to explore our house and our yard and our neighborhood. I love that you will stand in the front yard, staring up at the sky, asking me where the airplanes or the birds are.
Abigail, mommy loves your helpfulness. You help sweep the floors. You put your shoes on the carpet by the front door. You hand me a towel when I need to dry my hands. Every time you say "Here mommy," I smile.
Abigail, mommy loves your loving nature. You love to cuddle. You give great hugs. You will plop yourself down on my lap to read a book, and you end up snuggled in my arms when we say our prayers every night.
Abigail, mommy loves your intelligence. You repeat everything we say. You're making sentences. You've heard some of your books so many times that you "read" them to mommy and daddy. And you caught on awfully fast when Ya Ya and Ma Ma taught you how to count to four in Chinese. I am constantly asking "Where did she learn that?" and I love the fact that you surprise me with something new every day.
Abigail, mommy loves your independence. "No, mommy, I do it!" is a common phrase around our house these days. And while it takes much longer to leave the house when you have to put on your own shoes, and walk down the stairs yourself, and walk to the car yourself, and carry your own bag, and climb in the car seat by yourself, I do love seeing you learn to do new things. And the bright smile on your face when Mommy congratulates you on doing such a great job all by yourself makes my heart sing.
Abigail, mommy loves your big brown eyes. The eyes that look at me with love. The eyes that look at the world with wonder. The eyes that look just like daddy's and remind mommy how lucky she is to have both of you.
