Spoiled by Daddy

I think that living in suburbia alters a person's chromosomes to make them love visiting garage and yard sales. Seriously. I was never a big garage sale fan growing up, but now, I love when our weekends allow us the time to stroll around our neighborhood, stop by sales, and see what great deals we can find. In the past, Carey has found hardcover biographies for 50 cents apiece, a bamboo steamer (to make dumplings) for $1, and a Grey Goose Vodka bottle that was pressed into a cutting board (sounds weird, but it looks pretty cool) for $2. Yes folks, I loves me some garage sales.

Last Saturday, I had to come into work, so Abby and Carey had a daddy-daughter day. Part of that day included garage sale-ing. Well, Carey did great! He found some fall/winter outfits for Abby (7 shirts and pants for less than $3), a snowsuit (size 3T - we're planning for the future, people!), and a play set. At Tutor Time, they have lots of toys, and one of Abby's favorites is a play set that looks like a house. There's a door that opens and closes, a mailbox with "letters," and a small garden. Abby loves walking in and out and around and under and over - the kid just loves it. Well, Carey got a great deal on the exact same play set at this garage sale - $5!!! So, I spent the afternoon on Sunday cleaning it (very, very thoroughly) and Sunday evening, Abby had a blast! Seeing the look on her face was priceless, and most definitely worth the $5 that Carey paid. :-)

I love my new 'house'!

Should I put the letters in or take the letters out?

Never mind - I'll just eat the letters instead!

Picking the vegetables from my garden...

...and eating one of my delicious carrots!

Hey, when I pull all the veggies out of my garden, it creates a little seat for my little doopka!
(doopka - Polish nickname/endearment for butt. I have no idea how it's supposed to be spelled, so it's spelled phonetically...)

Crawling out of my house!

P.S. - Isn't Abby red outfit cute? That was one of Carey's garage sale finds. :-)
