Today, Carey and I are celebrating our fifth anniversary. I can't believe it's been five years. On the one hand, the time seems to have flown by. On the other hand, so much has happened over the last five years that I can't believe it's been such a short period of time. What I do know, with complete certainty, is that my life is blessed because Carey is in it. He shows me love and support, makes me laugh and helps me have fun, and makes me want to try to be the best wife and mother I can be, because I know that every day he tries to be the best husband and father that he can be. And doesn't a man who gives his best every day deserve a wife who does the same?
I was looking through our wedding keepsake box last night, and I found the letter that I wrote to Carey and read to him during our ceremony on April 17, 2004. The words are truer today than they were five years ago.
It was in this room [Hendricks Chapel, Syracuse University], almost three years ago, that I first knew that I loved you. Little did I know that this love would get us through a bar exam, support us during a long-distance relationship, and lead us to this day, our wedding. God has blessed me by placing such a wonderful man in my life. You are support, strength , and intelligence. You are faithfulness, compassion, and laughter. You are my comfort and my friend. Regardless of what life has in store for us, I will be at your side through it all. Depend on me, confide in me, trust in me. My love is yours forever. This day, I will marry my friend. The one I laugh with, live for, dream with, and love.
To Carey, the man that I still laugh with, the man that I still live for, the man that I still dream with, and the man that I love more each day: thank you for sharing your life with me. I love you with my whole heart.

Happy Anniversary! What a wonderful video tribute to 5 years. I am so thankful that Daniel and I were able to celebrate with you on your special day. As you know, it had been a tough year for us at that point, but your wedding was a beautiful diversion. I can't believe it has been 5 years already. I am praying for another wonderful 5 years (times 100)!!!!

Happy (late) anniversary!! As the first of our generation of cousins to marry, the bar was set high from the start! I know I can speak for everyone when I say that we all love Carey and are so glad to have him as part of our family. Hope you enjoyed your day- love you guys!
