...it's another. Well, we were just getting over two middle ear infections when a new problem popped up on Tuesday night. I was changing Abby into her jammies before bed, and when I sat her up, I noticed that she had a red rash all over her back. Upon closer inspection, it was also along the sides of her torso, and there were splotches of it on her arms and legs. After doing some online research, I still couldn't figure out what it was, but it didn't seem to bother Abby, so I figured we could wait to phone the doctor until the following morning. When Abby got up yesterday, she still had the rash all over, so Carey called the pediatrician and they saw her right away. Dr. Caravella guessed that Abby was having a reaction to the flavorings used in her antibiotics. (He said that antibiotics for babies have flavoring and coloring added to make them more palatable.) Well, he told us to stop giving her the antibiotics and to mix a little hydrocortisone cream with unscented Lubriderm and apply it three times a day to the rash. By the time I changed Abby into her jammies last night, the rash was completely gone. So, I guess that it was some sort of allergic reaction to the meds that cleared up quickly.
Abby doesn't look too much worse for the wear, does she? :-)
P.S. - Abby rolled over for me last night. I was so excited!! She just looked at me, smiled, and then rolled right over. I picked her up, looked into her smiling face, and just started crying. I love this little girl so much. She just brings such joy into my life! :-)

So glad the rash cleared up. Was she able to finish her antibiotics minus the flavoring? She is just too cute!!! :) I think these illnesses and things seem to worry and bother us mommies WAY more than they bother our kiddos. Brian tells me I worry too much...Sierra just keeps on laughing. :) Looks like Abby is going to be a laid-back, content little girl too! :)
