Yesterday was the first meeting of my New Mother's Group at the Childbearing Family Alliance. The group is a six-meeting program led by Mary Kahrs, who taught the Pregnancy Basics class that Carey and I attended back in August. Our group was small (only four moms, and one was sick so she didn't attend yesterday), but it was great to get out of the house with Abby and meet up with other new mothers. One of the other moms has actually been having the same problems with her son that we've been having with Abby. He's on his third formula, is very gassy, and doesn't sleep well. Thanks goodness that Abby has turned that corner (we think!), but it really brought those difficult weeks back to the forefront of my memory and made me thankful that Abby is doing better.
Yesterday we just took the time to introduce ourselves and our babies, talked about our labors, and discussed the challenges that we've faced since our babies were born. Abby is actually the "old lady" of the group. Little Andrew is 5 weeks old and little Kathryn is only 3 weeks old!! I looked at those little babies, and it seemed like so long ago that Abigail was that size!
The other moms were very nice, and Mary (who leads the group) is an experienced mom and teacher with an excellent sense of humor. So, I'm looking forward to our next meeting already! :-)

I can't wait to see that baby!!! Glad to hear Abby is sleeping better. Dan slept through the night for the first time the day he was baptized and when I laughed to grandma how strange it was because that's exactly what she said would happen, she indignantly said: "oh, ye of little faith" - in Polish no less! Apparently, once that original sin is gone the angels take over and that baby just sleeps... or so says your grandma.
love you all,
Aunt Teresa
