One Month Old! (A Message from Abigail)

(Being one month old is soooo tiring!!!)

Yesterday was my one month birthday! Mommy says she can't believe how believe how big I've gotten. There are lots of neat things that I do now that I couldn't do a month ago.

  • I can see things now, so I love looking at people's faces and at toys like my telephone rattle and my soft blocks. I also love looking out the window when mommy and daddy change my diapers.

  • I try really hard to talk to people when they talk to me. My mouth moves a lot and every once in a while I do make a sound, kinda like a sigh. I especially love talking to Grandma Jadwiga when she visits!

  • Sometimes, I roll over onto my side when I'm in my bassinet or crib. Mommy worries that I can't roll back over, but the sides of my bassinet have mesh panels in them, so I can still breath. But, Mommy and Daddy have started putting me to sleep in my cradle swing, so I can't roll over when I try to sleep. When I play with my Baby Einstein Activity Gym, I get to try to move around and Mommy can keep a close eye on me.

  • I also had my first real tub bath, to celebrate my one month birthday. (Mommy and Daddy have been giving me sponge baths until now.) Grandma Jadwiga showed Mommy and Daddy how to give me a bath. And, even though Grandma thought I would hate it, I was a very good girl; I didn't cry or scream at all. In fact, I even smiled, but I'd stop every time Mommy tried to take my picture. :-)

Mommy and Daddy think that the rice cereal and Maalox are helping me sleep better. I'm still pretty gassy (lots of burps and toots), but I'm sleeping at longer stretches, at least some of the time. I still like staying up with Mommy after my 4:00 am feeding, even though she tries really hard to get me to go back to sleep. :-P

Thanks to everyone for sending Mommy and Daddy emails and well wishes. I'm getting bigger every day, and I can't wait until I'm old enough to leave the house and meet all our family and friends! Hopefully, I'll see you soon!

Love, Abigail
