WE'RE HOMEOWNERS!!!!!

The closing went through without a hitch yesterday, so Carey and I are now proud homeowners! We're so excited, but it's still a bit surreal. Every once in a while, Carey and I will look at each other and exclaim "We just bought a house!" Crazy, but true...

We couldn't have done this without the help and support of our families, so I'd like to express my gratitude to all of them! 2008 has brought many changes to our lives already, and it has been such a comfort having a loving, supportive family to guide us through all these new challenges!

And now, for a few pictures of our new home! It was a bit too dark for me to take pictures yesterday, so below are some pictures that Bart and Melissa (our brother and sister-in-law) took for us when they first went to view the house back in January. As you can imagine, all the furniture and items that appear in these photos were removed before the closing went through yesterday. So, now we start with the cleaning and painting (which we're doing ourselves, with the help of family and friends), and the hardwood floors need to be refinished (which will be done by professionals!). A quick carpet cleaning on the ground floor, and then we'll be ready to move in, hopefully by the end of the month!! So, enjoy the montage and turn on your speakers!
